Thank goodness – the taper has begun

We are three weeks out now from the World Championships. It has been a year of arduous training and the last block has been a real killer. Yesterday we had three sessions and everyone was already tired going in to the day so by the end of it there were a lot of shattered athletes. But now we have two full days off before we are back in the boat doing our final preparations for the Worlds. So it is time to rest and recover and forget about canoeing for a couple of days so we are fully recovered and refreshed for our time trial on Tuesday morning.
