Thank goodness – the taper has begun

We are three weeks out now from the World Championships. It has been a year of arduous training and the last block has been a real killer. Yesterday we had three sessions and everyone was already tired going in to the day so by the end of it there were a lot of shattered athletes. But now we have two full days off before we are back in the boat doing our final preparations for the Worlds. So it is time to rest and recover and forget about canoeing for a couple of days so we are fully recovered and refreshed for our time trial on Tuesday morning.

Paul Wycherley blogging for Race Pace on the Sprint Worlds

I am really excited to have been asked by Brownie to blog for Race Pace on my preparation and all the latest happenings from the Senior Sprint World Championships. I think he has done a stand-up job with this site which is now looking really good. Keep checking it to stay updated with all the latest gossip from the team as well as the results from the Worlds!

Big shout out to the HSE Group that are really helping with my training by sponsoring me.
